Each student must pre-register and pay the class fee of $10.00 (checks only, payable to "Yuba City Hunter Education".). Class times are from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each evening and attendance at all classes is mandatory. Students must bring a parent or guardian the first evening of class to sign a permission sheet for the minor student to be around firearms. Also, each student is to bring their Social Security number, two pencils, a highlighter, scratch paper and something to eat and or drink.
There is nothing more frustrating for the students and instructors than to miss out because they waited until the last minute; it is strongly encouraged to plan well in advance. Additional class dates in 2008 will be posted soon.
I have enjoyed teaching this course for seventeen years. In those seventeen years this team of instructors has certified over 4,000 students. There is currently a shortage of instructors locally to assist in passing on our hunting heritage. If you will commit to the time needed to be a instructor, and can teach a minimum of three classes, then you are the type of person that our program could use.
