President's Message
Welcome friends, and wow! Time has flown by, I can hardly believe that a full year has come and gone since our “First Annual Dinner”. What a year it has been. Using funds generated from our first event we have been able to achieve many of our goals, and further contribute to our Mission. One of the many areas we have been able to contribute to include fulfilling our dream of a Mobile Wildlife Education Center “Sensory Safari Unit”. We have also contributed monies to National Safari Club International, for the fight for your Hunting rights, and we have sponsored a “Safari Wish” for a young hunter, sending him and his father to Texas for a once in a lifetime whitetail hunt. And yes, once again along with the phenomenal help from SB Member and Director Chuck Wyllie, we have helped to sponsor our now locally famous Junior Pheasant hunt.

Our Second Annual Dinner is right around the corner, scheduled for July 19,2008. Our event this year will be held in Yuba City, at the Veterans Memorial Hall. This year will be special with guest speaker George Stratman, Director of The Shady Creek Outdoor School, formerly known as the Woodleaf Outdoor School. Mr. Stratman was sponsored this year by our chapter to attend the American Wildlife Leadership School in Jackson Hole Wyoming, and is excited to share his thoughts on the program and his adventure with all of us. Once again, we have five great awards to present to our chosen members for their achievements through the year in Wildlife Conservation, North American and African Hunting Achievements, and Chapter Member of The Year. This year’s awards for the first time include a special “Presidents Award.” It will be presented by myself to an individual that has shown a never ending drive to protect our Rights as hunters, while at the same time supporting the many Wildlife Conservation programs necessary to protect Wildlife and our Hunting Heritage.
If you have not yet purchased your Dinner tickets, there are still seats available if you hurry. You may purchase tickets by visiting our web site, www.scisb.com, there you will find the many possible Dinner Ticket packages and Sponsorships available, and to make your purchase easy we offer PayPal. If this method does not work for you please email me @ sutterbuttes-sci@sbcglobal.net and I will see that your request is handled personally. We hope that you choose to attend our Dinner and feel that with our many special auction items including, hunts from South Africa, the African Eastern Cape, North America, Argentina, and New Zealand , along with Custom Art pieces, Furniture, and many unique items from around the world, you will find something you must have. And oh yea !!! our famous raffles including over Thirty Rifles and Shotguns, along with many unique and interesting one of a kind items will surely bring excitement to the evening. This year we will also include a Special Ladies raffle with some unique and special Ladies only items. And have special Games planned to make the evening fun!!!
