Sutter Buttes Chapter purchased this trailer in September 2007 for our Mobile Education Center. It is undergoing renovations right now and should be ready for public display by early November 2007. See the link above to see the official announcement.
Per a Safari Club International, Sutter Buttes chapter board of Directors directive, our chapter is actively soliciting private donations, and Corporate funds for the construction of a Mobile Wildlife Education center. This project is better known as a Sensory Safari Trailer. Our chapters goal, is to by years end have the funding available to purchase an enclosed trailer which our membership can use to create a mobile wildlife display, and education center. This display will be available for use in our area by our local schools, and will be used locally in other high profile events, such as fairs, and sports shows. It will be made available to any and all other wildlife conservation groups who request it's presence.
This mobile wildlife display will be used to better educate our area youth and adults of the importance of wildlife conservation, Habitat maintenance, and Hunter education, along with allowing our chapter to introduce our area to the Mission of Safari Club International, and our Sutter Buttes SCI chapter. With a hands on approach our exhibit will allow our chapter to better respond to the negative atmosphere being created by anti hunting and miss advised educators and non hunters of our local area. Visitors to our exhibit will be able to view, feel and hear, wildlife species, tracks and much more, than they may ever have had the opportunity in the past . Along with educational teaching tools, video, and animal specimens this exhibit we will be able to present our message better in more areas than with any other vehicle. We the Board of Director are excited to to get this project underway.
